Best of the Best Weekend Festivals Take Over Miami

When one of the world's premier outdoor venues teams with a tremendous roster of performers, you create among the most anticipated concert events of the year.  This Memorial Day weekend, one of the longest running music festivals in the world comes to Miami's Bicentennial Park.  The Best of the Best, brings together some of the finest names in R&B, hip-hop, and reggae.

With the roster of talent heading to downtown Miami, this has been expanded over time into a two day event.  Spring Fest 2011 is May 28th followed by the Best of the Best concert on the 29th.

Day one is focused on the standouts in R&B and will be headlined by Chris Brown while day two features more of a reggae sound and is highlighted by Stephen and Damian Marley along with DJ Khaled.  The whole weekend, which attracts thousands from around the world every year, is co-promoted by XO Management and Rockers Island Entertainment.

"This year it's about celebrating our differences in the same backyard," explains Rockers Island CEO, Joseph Louis. "The goal is to make a stronger connection between our music and the diverse culture of South Florida that consistently draws millions of visitors from all over the world."

Joining the headliners is a group of who's who in the music industry.  On Saturday, Miami native Rick Ross joins Brown along with Keri Hilson, Trey Songz, Lloyd, Jeremih, and many more.  Gates open at 5 PM.  Nationally syndicated radio host Rickey Smiley will host day one's events.

Sunday starts off at 3 PM and will be driven by artists from different Caribbean genres of music, including soca, dancehall, and reggae.  Also, DJ Khaled will be joined by one of the up and coming rappers on his label We the Best Music Group, Ace Hood, to provide an element of hip-hop on day two.

Brown, Saturday's main draw, is one of the biggest stars in music today, fresh off an Australian tour at the beginning of the month for his recent fourth studio album, F.A.M.E.   Khaled is Miami based and a host on South Florida's 99 JAMZ WEDR.  Hilson, Songz, and Jeremih have all released albums within the past year and Lloyd has an upcoming release in June.

All these acts coming together make Miami a top destination over Memorial Day Weekend.

Both days will be held at the 30 acre Bicentennial Park, located on the eastern edge of downtown Miami.  It is annually host to some of the biggest international music events, including the electronic music festival Ultra and Best of the Best.

With an area able to encompass around 45,000 people, the events at the park never cease to be top notch.

In addition to the two principal weekend concerts, a great number of official parties will be held through Monday.  Most of the bashes will be held at Mansion and Cameo on South Beach and will be hosted by an assortment of performers.

Tickets for both events can be purchased at www.Ticketmaster.com or www.BestOfTheBestConcert.com.
