Cinemax has found Quarry's rock.

Mary Elizabeth Winstead has been cast on the Cinemax drama pilot, "Quarry," opposite star Logan Marshall Green, TheWrap has learned exclusively.

She will play Joni, Quarry's (Green) wife, who is one of the few who stands by her husband after he returns from the Vietnam War.

A Senate Commerce Committee hearing into Tom Wheeler's nomination as Federal Communications Commission chairman quickly turned into a partisan debate about the FCC's future. 

Commerce Committee Chairman Jay Rockefeller (D-W.V.) urged Wheeler, President Obama's choice, to be a consumer advocate.

"New Day," CNN's new entry into the morning-show fray, drew mixed ratings with its Monday premiere.

The show, anchored by Chris Cuomo and Kate Bolduan, drew 247,000 total viewers including 95,000 in the key 25-54 demographic.

"Arthur Newman" made headlines when it debuted last spring, but it wasn't for the film's onscreen coupling of Oscar-winner Colin Firth and rising star Emily Blunt. The media attention instead centered on an innovative marketing campaign driven by an odd couple pairing of a Hollywood studio and BitTorrent.

The film flopped, racking up roughly $200,000 in limited box-office release, but BitTorrent is claiming that its efforts in raising awareness of "Arthur Newman" were a rousing success.

Hollywood's gamble on a crowded summer movie season chockablock with pricey tentpoles is paying off, with the box office running 12.7 percent ahead of last summer and on track to possibly break the all time summer record.

That $4.4 billion record was set in 2011; last summer the box office dipped back down to $4.29 billion. If the box office continues on this torrid pace, this summer will easily top last year.

If only we could axe "Keeping Up With the Kardashians" off the TV schedule.

In the latest spoof of the famous "American Psycho's" murder scene, Kourtney Kardashian's boyfriend Scott Disick plays Christian Bale playing Patrick Bateman. Kim Kardashian's best friend, Jonathan, plays the guy who's brutally murdered. And it's all in the name of promoting Kim's boyfriend Kayne West's new album, "Yeezus," which officially came out Tuesday.

NBC's "The Voice" will crown another winner on Tuesday night's finale.

Season 4's three finalists -- Daniellle Bradbury, Michelle Shamuel and The Swon Brothers -- battled it out for the title on Monday's performance finale episode.

Before the performances, coaches Blake Shelton, Adam Levine, Shakira and Usher performed The Beatles' "With A Little Help From My Friends." The Top 16 then got together for the second group performance of the night on Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros' "Home."

Legendary Pictures signaled it would aggressively develop and produce television for the first time when it hired former Warner Bros. Television Chief Bruce Rosenblum as its president of TV and digital, a move announced on Monday.

Despite Rosenblum's traditional TV background in the business, could Legendary be looking at Netflix and Amazon as the distributor for its shows?

"Absolutely," said Legendary CEO Thomas Tull when TheWrap asked whether the streaming services were likely destinations for its new shows.

Russell Brand stopped by MSNBC's "Morning Joe" on Monday to promote his upcoming comedy tour, "The Messiah Complex," but instead, spent more than eight minutes listening to three condescending anchors referencing his chest hair, fashion sense and funny accent.

"Joining us now, he's a really big deal -- I'm told this, I'm not very pop cultured, I'm sorry -- comedian, movie star, author and host of the show 'Brand X,' Russell Brand," co-host Mika Brzezinski introduced him.

Legendary Pictures will decide whether to renew its relationship with Warner Bros. within 60 days, Legendary CEO Thomas Tull told reporters on Tuesday.

Tull praised the studio as a tremendous partner, but also said that both his company and the studio were in different places than when they started working together in 2004.

Legendary's deal with Warner Bros. expires at the end of the year, and Tull said Legendary had engaged in preliminary talks with other studios.

Wigs -- the top channel for scripted drama on YouTube -- in conjunction with Fox Broadcasting is bringing some of its most popular online series to Hulu in TV-length episodes, beginning with the popular Julia Stiles-starring "Blue," Wigs announced Tuesday. 

The first two seasons of "Blue" launched on the streaming service Monday.

Earlier this year, Fox entered into a multi-year programming, marketing and distribution partnership with Wigs, after Fox decided to extend the reach to Hulu as part of its multi-platform strategy.

28 Entertainment has begun work on a movie about iconic country music singer George Jones and his wife Nancy, the company announced Tuesday.

It has acquired the rights to the project, written by Dennis L. Baxter and produced by Baxter and 28 Entertainment's Jay Hoffman and Brian A. Hoffman, which depicts George's life as a country music legend while battling his personal demons.
