Drake’s OVO Fest isn’t the only North American stop on James Blake’s upcoming 2013 itinerary. In addition to the Aug. 4 festival appearance in Toronto, the English electronic producer and singer/songwriter has added two dozen gigs in the U.S. and Canada.

The site of 1967’s Monterey Pop Festival and the long-running Monterey Jazz Festival is hosting a new event in August with a lineup featuring Modest Mouse, Passion Pit, MGMT, Neko Case, Beach House, Toro Y Moi and Devendra Banhart.

The Grammy-winning rock band from Pennsylvania will appear on the third day of the Stars & Stripes Festival, joining Collective Soul, Cake, Randy Travis and Puddle Of Mudd for Michigan’s largest free music fest.

Ray Manzarek, the keyboardist who was a founding member of The Doors, has died. He was 74.  Manzarek died Monday at the RoMed Clinic in Rosenheim, Germany, surrounded by his family, according to his publicist.

Peter Hook doesn’t want to rejoin New Order’s lineup, but that doesn’t mean he’s not going to keep playing the band’s music. In September Hook and his group The Light will showcase New Order’s first two albums in their entirety on a U.S./Canada tour.

There’s a new frontman for Stone Temple Pilots – Linkin Park’s Chester Bennington.  “Chester has a one-of-a-kind voice that we’ve admired for a long time,” STP guitarist Dean DeLeo said. “We know Linkin Park will always be his priority, but we thought it would be cool to try something together."

Brian May and singer Kerry Ellis return to the road for another round of the duo’s “Born Free” tour in the U.K. and Europe.  Performing acoustic and by candlelight, the Queen guitarist and Ellis will launch the trek in mid-June.

G Dragon says he tries to separate his solo performances from how Big Bang performs. The band works as a team, and G Dragon says the concept is of artists collaborating. But “when I perform as a solo, I think a lot about what I always wanted to do but have not done yet.”

“The Voice” is leaving the judging drama to its rivals.  The NBC singing contest said Friday that Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green will return for “The Voice” Season 5, joining Adam Levine and Blake Shelton.

Officials say the leader of the reggae band Toots and the Maytals was injured when a 19-year-old man threw a bottle and hit the singer during a concert in Richmond.  Police said Sunday the man has been charged with aggravated assault.
