QUOTABLES FROM "LATE NIGHT WITH JIMMY FALLON" March 8 - March 12  (3/15/2010)

by: Steven Samblis

"Hey, how you guys feeling? Did everyone watch the Oscars last night? Or as I like to call it, James Cameron’s own personal "Hurt Locker." "It was a big night for The Hurt Locker, which of course is a film about the war in Iraq. I guess that explains why Obama called the director, and was like, "Uh, how did you end it?"

This Week on TV - What to watch.  (3/15/2010)

by: Jim Stalker

Breaking Bad with the magnificent two-time Emmy winner Bryan Cranston returns for it’s third season as Walter White has to make some pretty big decisions. There is always a surprise at every turn with this show that blends drama with moments of wild humor. With The Soprano’s, The Wire, and The Shield all gone, I would have to say this is TV’s best and most edgy show. Mad Men, is great, but nowhere near as wild a ride.

Making Sense: America’s Security Put in Peril by Failing Schools  (3/14/2010)

by: Michael Reagan

Today, Washington is so focused on expanding the size and influence of our federal government at the expense of taxpayers that they are overlooking one of the greatest security risks facing our nation -- our failing education system.

American Idol - Week 9 Recap - The Dudes  (3/11/2010)

by: Jim Stalker

Lynche found his inner-Vandross out-smoothing Maxwell’s remake of the reclusive British diva’s song. It was as Simon said, "not only the best performance of the night, but the best of the season!" In this sleepy season it wasn’t enough to generate a real idol moment. I put it somewhere slightly above Siobhan’s high note on Think.

American Idol - Week 9 Recap - The Ladies  (3/11/2010)

by: Jim Stalker

As for the rest if you brought in Jack Bauer and his jumper cables I think I would expire before he could "help me remember" any of their performances. There really isn’t much difference between them. As I mentioned before they all seem like they’d be equally happy with a career in movies or TV if the music thing doesn’t work out. If I were Katie, Katelyn, or Paige I would start packing.

The Right to Work  (3/10/2010)

by: John Stossel

The people of Louisiana must sleep soundly knowing that their state protects them from ... unlicensed florists. That’s right. In Louisiana, you can’t sell flower arrangements unless you have permission from the government. How do you get permission? You must pass a test that is graded by a board of florists who already have licenses.

TAKING STOCK - A Bite of Apple  (3/10/2010)

by: Malcolm Berko

Dear Mr. Berko: In October 2009, you roundly criticized Apple’s iPod as useless and suggested that the stock should not be bought. I sent you a long letter telling you why you were wrong, but you did not answer me. The stock is now $224, so let’s see if you have the guts to publicly admit your stupidity.

TAKING STOCK - The Future of GM  (3/10/2010)

by: Malcolm Berko

Dear Mr. Berko: I’m 87 years old. I started work at GM in 1943 and retired 30 years later in 1973 at 50, and I could fix anything that went wrong on the assembly line. I believed in GM back then, as did every working man in America. So every time I could save enough money, I would buy one or two shares of GM because it was my company.
